Dear Convenors,
Please could you circulate the information across all the hockey sections within your club.
Hong Kong Hockey - Women's Section is seeking expressions of interest from individuals wishing to take on the role of selectors of youth and/or senior national squads and teams of the Hong Kong girls and women for the period 14 January 2019 - 31 December 2019. Each squad will have its own selection panel and team management. Potential candidates for the role of selector would preferably have the following skills/experience
- Experience as a county, regional or national selector, at any age group in Hong Kong or elsewhere
- Competed at a regional or national level (for senior selectors)
- Demonstrates an ability to understand and apply the principles of selection.
Trials and training sessions for youth will most likely be from 16:30 – 18:00 on Mondays and Fridays. Trials and training sessions for seniors will most likely be from 18:30 – 22:00 on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
There will be open trials held in mid/late January 2019, then team selections (from the respective squads) will be made prior to key tournaments / events.
It should be noted that selectors cannot be appointed, at this stage if they are eligible for selection for (unless they do not wish to be considered for selection). A selector may be on selection panels for either or both youth and senior squads.
If you wish to be considered for a selector’s position, please send an e-mail to janicechan@hockey.org.hk with (1) a brief summary of your experience as a selector (2) your preference on whether to be on the selection panel for youth and/or senior squads/teams and (3) confirm your availability for the months of January & February 2019 by 5 January 2019.
