Dear Conveners,
The Hong Kong Hockey Association - Summer Mixed League 2019
The Hong Kong Hockey Association invites you to enter teams in the HKHA Summer Mixed Hockey League commencing on Monday, June 10th 2019 and finishing in mid-August 2019. The HKHA Summer Mixed League will be played on weekday evenings at Happy Valley from 19:00 to 22:00 and 19:00 to 23:00 on Happy Valley pitch 1 (HV1) and Happy Valley pitch 2 (HV2) respectively.
The exact competition format will be determined once the team entries have been received. It will most likely be based on 3 pools, each of 10 teams. Each team can expect to play once per week on average and may occasionally have two matches within one week.
The objective of the Summer Mixed League is for all matches to be played on a friendly and informal basis. This does not mean that the matches are not competitive. Most matches are generally hard fought. Match results will not be recorded but umpires will be required to report the award of yellow and red cards and any other matters relating to bad conduct.
Team Registration
Clubs/ teams interested in taking part in the Summer Mixed League can register on or before 17:00 on Wednesday 8th May 2019 online at the following link: HKHA SML 2019 – Team Registration Form (https://forms.gle/pM1nRSw9fEZYbNuSA). If anyone has a problem with registration please contact the HKHA by email (hkha@hockey.org.hk) or fax (2384-0535). If the league is oversubscribed acceptance of applications will be determined on an equitable basis.
Unavailable dates
Any team that is aware of specific dates on which it may not be able to field a team can advise of such dates by sending an email to the HKHA. The HKHA will attempt to take such requests into account when determining the match schedule but cannot promise to meet all requirements. The earlier such a request is received the better the chances of the request being met. Please note that it is not possible to entertain requests such as "we can only play at 20:00" or "we can only play on Wednesdays".
Entry Fee
By registering a team, or teams, in the HKHA Summer Mixed Hockey League 2019 a convener is making an undertaking to pay the registration fee for each registered team. The entry fee is $3,000 per team and it must be received by the HKHA office on or before 17:00 on Tuesday 14th May, 2019. Any team that has not paid by this date will be withdrawn from the league.

Please prepare a cheque payable to “The Hong Kong Hockey Association” and send it to Summer Mixed League at 1st Floor, Administrative Block, King’s Park Hockey Ground, 6 Wylie Road, Kowloon.
Kindly write down your full name and Team name at the back of the cheque for our reference.
- ATM or Online payment to HSBC account #658-117619-838
Please email the soft copy of the ATM or Online payment receipt to maggiechan@hockey.org.hk with your full name and team name for our reference. Application is known as unsuccessful in absence of payment receipt.
Player Registration
Once team is registered, each team is required to register its players on or before 17:00 on Tuesday 14th May, 2019 using the attached Form. Players who have not registered in Men’s or Women’s League during season 2018-2019, have to submit ID card for player registration use. Teams may register players at any time during the league. Players registered after 20th May 2019 shall not be considered as registered until the convenor and/or captain has submitted the completed registration form attached to the HKHA and received an acknowledgement of their registration/deregistration from the HKHA.
A player may only be registered to play for one team but may play for other teams of the same club. Clubs that are found to be frequently using the same players to play for more than one of its team will not be permitted to enter more than one team in future Summer Leagues.
Players cannot register for another team until they have been deregistered from the team that they are currently registered with. Players found to be playing for a team that they are not registered with will be immediately deregistered by the HKHA and will not be permitted to register for any team in the current Summer League. They also risk being prohibited from registering in future Summer Leagues.
The registration of players under the age of 18 cannot be accepted unless the form “Parental Permission Letter for Players Under 18” has been completed, signed by the player’s parent or guardian and submitted to the HKHA by email (hkha@hockey.org.hk).
Any player who wishes to play in the Summer League but is not affiliated with a team may submit their names by email (hkha@hockey.org.hk) to the HKHA who will assist them to join a team.
Conveners Meeting
A meeting for conveners, captains and umpires will be held at King’s Park Conference Room (2/F, Administration Block) on Friday 17th May, 2019 at 19:15 to discuss the Summer Mixed League arrangements and Bylaws. All club conveners are requested to attend or to send a representative.
Conveners and players are reminded of the importance of fair play, good sportsmanship and proper conduct on the pitch. Any behavior that could bring the game of hockey into disrepute will not be tolerated. Any teams or players who do not abide by the Rules and Bylaws may be brought before the HKHA Disciplinary Committee who may award penalties that are carried forward into the next Winter Leagues.
