HockeyHK 24-25 Circular no. 1 - Use of HKSAR Flag or Emblem and Participation in Overseas Events

Dear Club Convenors, 

As the new league is about to start, clubs' attention is drawn to the following bye-law requirements, which have been oversighted in a number of occasions recently.

i) Use of HKSAR Flag or Emblem - Clubs are advised that team uniforms should NOT display HKSAR flag.  The Regional Flag and Regional Emblem (Amendment) Ordinance has strict requirements on the use of HKSAR flag and emblem.    The competition by-laws of relevant HockeyHK Section Committees also have provisions governing such use on club uniforms as quoted below. 

"No club may use the Hong Kong, China flag/national emblem unless permission/approval in writing from the Government re usage of the SAR logo has been sought and received. Any such approval should be submitted with the uniform design."

ii) Participating in Overseas Events - Affiliated Clubs wishing to participate in hockey tournaments or events overseas or to undertake hockey tours outside Hong Kong shall seek and obtain the prior endorsement of the relevant HockeyHK Section Committees by submitting a request for such endorsement in writing to the Honorary Secretary not less than one (1) month before the date of departure of the team or the main contingent of the Team.  Upon returning to Hong Kong, the Affiliated Club must inform the Honorary Secretary not later than two (2) weeks from the date of return, the results of the matches played and any disciplinary matters that may have arisen whilst overseas.
