HockeyHKWS 24-25 Circular No. 14 - HockeyHKWS Goalkeeper Enhancement Program

Dear Convenors,

HockeyHKWS is delighted to present a specialized goalkeeping course designed to enhance skills, ignite interest, and build a strong goalkeeper community among our members.

Course Details

Instructor:
Ms. Hong Ka Man Carman
Goalkeeper for the Hong Kong, China Women’s Hockey representative team and two-time Asian Games athlete.

Dates:
14th and 21st September 2024

Venue:
Kings Park Hockey Ground

Time:
09:00 - 12:00

Language:
English / Cantonese

Participants:

• Coaches (not accompanying a goalkeeper) interested in fundamental goalkeeping coaching principles
  • 10 Goalkeepers* (each accompanied by a playing partner for drills)
    *Goalkeepers must be currently registered with the HockeyHKWS Winter League 24/25 or planning to register for the upcoming season.

Ability:
Open to all skill levels

Cost:
$300 for both sessions (no refund for partial attendance)

Participants attending both sessions will receive a Certificate of Participation.

Course Structure
The course includes 1 hour of theory and 2 hours of practical training each week.

Course Contents

• Basic Knowledge:
  Rules, skills, techniques, drills, tactics
• Practical Techniques:
  Footwork, leg skills, glove skills, stick skills, sliding skills
• Scenario Training:
  Handling 2 on 1 or 1 on 1 situations
  Organizing defense against fast plays
• Short Corner Formation
• Shoot Out and Penalty Techniques

Additional Information
Goalkeepers should bring your own kit to training. One kit is available for use upon request with a special reason.
