Dear Convenors,
The HKHA is aware of the concerns of the hockey community regarding the potential adverse effects of tear gas residue on or around King's Park Hockey Ground after the public order event earlier this week.
We are given to understand that tear gas will disperse in open air environment and the risk to public health should be minimal. We have requested LCSD to cleanse the spectator stands thoroughly this week and the pitch have been watered and drained many times to flush out any tear gas residue. We are monitoring the situation and also working with other sports associations and seeking advice from Government.
Meanwhile, for anyone seeking further information, it is available on the following Hong Kong Government websites;
Centre for Health Protection
Health information on tear gas

Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, Centre for Food Safety.
Advice to the public on contaminants and food safety in relation to tear gas

Should we receive any further information or updates, we will share with the hockey community in a timely fashion. In the meantime, kindly note that league games for both men and women will continue as scheduled and the HKHA will continue to monitor any potential disruptions regarding travelling to and from and access to venues and update teams should any changes be required.
Regards,
Ernest LI
