HKHAWS 22-23 Circular No. 11 - Women National Team Open Trials

Dear All, 

The Women’s National Squad Committee will be conducting selection trial sessions to select potential players for the National Squad.

Players that wish to be considered for selection for the Hong Kong Women’s national team participating in this tournament are cordially invited to attend the following trial sessions: 

Dates: 29th September, 3rd and 6th October 2022 

Time: 8:00pm-10:00pm 

Venue: King's Park Hockey Ground 

Players attending these sessions should arrive at the ground sharp and bring along a white shirt and a dark blue shirt, mouth guard and shin guard.   

The expectation is that players attending these sessions are currently playing in the Hong Kong Women’s winter league Premier Division. 

Upon reviewing players’ performances at these sessions, the Women’s National team coach Mr. Arif Ali may extend an invitation to certain players to continue training with the Women’s Senior Squad with a view to assessing them for selection for the Asian Games 2023. 

The current Women’s Senior Squad training sessions are generally held every Monday and Thursday evening from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm at King's Park Hockey Ground and Tuesdays evening 7:00pm to 10:00pm in Happy Valley.  There are also additional ad hoc training sessions, when deemed appropriate.  

The Asian Hockey Federation has advised the HKHA that only HKSAR passport holders are eligible to represent Hong Kong at international tournaments.  Players are therefore required to produce their HKSAR passport as proof of eligibility before they can be considered for selection for the AGQ squad.  You can either bring a copy of your passport to training or send in a soft copy by email to nortonleung@hockey.org.hk & jowiewong@hockey.org.hk.
